Can a person over exercise using vibration?
When using a treadmill you can only exercise until your tired or in pain.
How do you know what is the right amount of exercise when it feels like it's not doing anything?
Do you stop when you just become numb?

Typically every position should be held for about 30 seconds each followed with a few seconds break. A total of 15-20 minutes should be a daily max. But, it really depends on the machine, frequency and intensity. You should be able to feel your muscles getting tired if they are being worked and targeted properly in the correct positions.

What exercises do you recommend for seniors, are there any do's and don't's. I am really interested in a safe full body workout, without over exerting myself.

Talk to your physical therapist or doctor to find out what the restrictions are. Vibration exercise companies should be able to tell you what the restrictions are ... for example, you can't use wbv if you are pregnant or have had recent surgery. Some restrictions are just suggestions and others are mandatory.

Vibration exercise is no different than other forms of exercise. You can basically overtrain with any form of exercise out there. Too much weight training will lead to muscle breakdown rather than build up. Too much of the treadmill or running without pacing yourself and giving yourself adequate rest ends up causing more injuries rather than making you better. Vibration exercise is no different. Less is more. We usually recommend about 2 minutes of total vibration time per body part. You can do that at 30 second sets with rest in between and do 4 sets. Or you can do 1 minute sets with a total of 2 sets. The biggest thing i see with people that tend to do more than that and feel they aren't getting anything out of it, is that they are usually not in the right position, the right frequency, right intensity level, or doing the right level of difficulty of exercise that is designed for their own fitness level. You dont need to do a lot of vibration time to get the right affects for your body. So next time you workout and you feel like you didnt get the level of intensity you want, adjust your exercise position, change to a more difficult exercise or change up your frequency or amplitude. Everyone is different and having a qualified trainer to help you is crucial to success

Being a trainer on the Wave machines I find I may do too much exercise. Reason being, I'm constantly demonstrating technique and position. Moreover, when I assist with various massage positions (ex. hand and foot massages) I'm also on the machine, typically at a high frequency as well.
