Great question... what does the industry think of vibration exercise?

Most of the rehab industry has not had experience with WBV. We are initiating a research project with a local physiatrist, who prior to being educated regarding the topic had never even heard of vibration therapy before.
She is now on board to do a pilot involving the use of vibration with her stroke recovery patients.
It takes time and effort to spread the word!

If you asked me that question 5 years ago, I would say there isn't much awareness of the technology. Nowadays, more and more clinicians are taking a closer look at vibration exercise. Just go to pubmed and type in vibration. You'd be surprised with the amount of research studies coming out validating its benefits. Its been more than 8 years now that the technology has been used in clinical settings in North America. There is a definite trend now with clinicians to take a look at it more seriously. However, the problem now isn't whether the technology works. There is a general trend towards showing it has positive benefits, if used properly. The question now is on what are the best parameters and settings and exercises that are effective. This is no different than any other technology or program. Eight years ago we didnt have any protocols and kind of experimented with it. Nowadays, we have developed full protocols for various conditions through experience. I think more and more health professionals will continue to see the benefits that the technology provides and will begin integrating it within their practice.

We use the WAVE Pro Elite in our clinic. We have had remarkable results in low back but also in post rehab for hip replacements. Proper time protocol is essential as not to harm the patient. The orthopedic surgeons we work with have been very happy with the results in their follow ups with patients - especially with glute activity. Squat and single leg static to dynamic progressions have been the foundation of our programs and are patient-variant. These are surgeon referrals. The referrals keep coming. This speaks volumes.
