How can I treat Osteoporosis on wbv?

There's some good research out there on osteoporosis and wbv. Essentially, research shows that high impact type of activities are effective in increasing, or maintaining, bone density. Therefore, any type of activity that requires the heel making impact against a hard surface sends signals to the bones that there is a stress to it. This type of stress leads to maintenance or increase of bone density. Now lets take a look at vibration. If your hip or low back is affected by osteoporosis, doing squats or lunges is important. However, make sure that you can place more pressure on the heels when doing these exercises. With the platform dropping up and down up to 50 times a second, that creates a substantial amount of impact on the heels. Great thing with vibration is that it's a lower impact on the joints for those that may not be able to do conventional resistance exercises. There are a few other things to remember when working out on a vibration platform:
1. Change up your frequencies or intensities on a regular basis. This can be every week, every 2 weeks, etc. The reason is that your body will not adapt to the same stimulus.
2. Always try changing up the exercise positions. One day do a squat, and on another you can do a lunge.
3. change up the time of your session. You can do 4 sets at 30 seconds each. Next week, you can do a 1 minute session with a few sets. Again, never let your body adapt to the stimulation.
We usually recommend about a total of 15 minutes of vibration time if doing a full body workout.
