4 Reasons you will lose weight with vibration exercise machines

vibration exercise machinesIf you want to lose weight with vibration machines, this article will go through some of the reasons why it’s possible. The most common questions we get is exactly HOW vibration exercise machines will lead to weight loss. Although there are different types of machines on the market with different explanations on how they will help you get results, this article looks at the most common sense and research backed answers on why vibration exercise machines may be your first choice in helping you lose weight.

Increase metabolism to lose weight with vibration machines

The facts are simple. As you exercise, you use more muscles. Your muscles get stronger and bigger, requiring you to use more energy. The amount of energy required for your body to use everyday is called your metabolism. When you eat, you are taking in energy in form of calories. If there is a balance between what you take in and what you burn, you will neither gain weight nor lose weight. Exercise has been shown to help increase metabolism. However, it’s not just the increase in metabolism that is important, but also the prevention of a drop in metabolism as you lose weight. You see, as you lose weight with vibration machines, you weigh less. The less you weigh, the less ‘energy’ required to maintain your new body weight. That means your metabolism will drop. You will need to eat less than you did before to maintain the new weight. That explains why some people begin losing weight at the beginning of their programs but tend to ‘plateau’ over time. We often think ‘we’ll just go back to eating normally after we lose our weight’. This is a myth since you ‘ll have to eat less at your new weight. Now what if you could help prevent that drop in metabolism, or at least minimize it? I was part of a study that was presented at the North Amercian Association for the Study of Obesity in 2005. We put people on a weight loss programme over a 3 month period. One of the most striking findings was the increase of a person’s metabolism from using vibration exercise. We got about a 7% increase in metabolism. That was significant in the fact that as you lose weight with vibration machines, the increase in metabolism will offset some of the drop in metabolism that will occur. Our experience has been that we are able to increase the time it takes to reach those pesky plateaus as you lose weight. As you lose weight with vibration exercise machines, you are getting the right amount of exercise stimulation to help prevent a significant drop in your metabolism.

Vibration machines work more muscles than regular exercise while you lose weight

There is a general trend in exercise these days to work the bigger muscle groups rather than the smaller muscles to see changes and results. As we’ve just discussed, your body burns a certain amount of energy throughout the day. This is based on how much muscle you have, and how much activity or exercise those muscles are doing. The bigger the muscles, the more energy your body uses. All the top trainers and doctors are now promoting the use of bigger muscles for workouts. Also, it comes down to how much of that muscle is really being used. Some say that only 40 to 60 % of a person’s muscles in any group are being used. What if you could use more of that muscle? Your calorie burn would be greater. Well, vibration machines do just that. Because vibration works muscles through an ‘involuntary’ muscle contraction, you end up using more muscles than regular training. By using more muscles, you burn more calories and use more energy. This is obviously a simplified explanation. The main keys to success comes down to the type of exercises you do, how frequently, how much and how to change the program on a regular basis to see results. But the clear message is, the more muscles you use, the more energy you burn. While you lose weight with vibration machines, you are doing just that.

Vibration machines mimic high intensity training without the stress or effort levels

We’ve seen images and videos of people standing on a vibration machine in a comfortable position, looking like they are not doing anything. However, if you are looking to lose weight with vibration machines and get toned, you will have to increase the intensity of your vibration exercise program. However, this increase in intensity from regular exercise comes at the expense of increases in stress on our body through adding more weight loads or generating more forces. Vibration exercise allows one to find a comfortable position where they are able to stay during the exercise time. This leads to less stress on the body. We all know that we need to use more muscles, and use them at a high enough intensity to see any positive effects. Vibration exercise can generate these high ‘forces’ of muscle contractions without the need to add more weight loads, which increases the stresses on the joints. Also, you can generate these high intensity muscle contractions by finding a neutral position that is comfortable for you.

Vibration exercise is an effective ‘exercise’ component to a sensible weight loss program

When vibration exercise was in its infancy, I had many conversations with trainers and doctors that did not have enough knowledge about vibration and weight loss. Of course, the initial reaction has always been that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Trainers had several misconceptions about vibration. They felt that you can get the same results using simple exercises. They didn’t understand why standing on a vibration machine can lead to weight loss. However, they failed to realize that vibration is just another form of exercise. It’s not magic. It’s a way for someone to get a high intensity type of workout in a short period of time. If you are over 40 and have been active, you may know how your body feels during the day. You may realize you aren’t as flexible as you used to be.  Your joints ache and your body is not able to handle the high intensity type of program that it used to. I know this from experience. I deal with bodybuilders that are in their late 40’s that initially were hesitant about vibration exercise. However, once they saw the benefits of vibration exercise, they embraced it as one component of their training. Weight loss is no different. To lose weight with vibration machines, you must realize that it’s just one component of an overall weight loss program. A weight loss program is not fixed. It’s a journey of small changes in your life that lets you continue to enjoy the things you want. Exercise has been shown in research to be an important component of this journey. Through our comprehensive 6 module Trim & Tone program, we help you slowly make those changes to see the results you want.
As more people begin to use vibration exercise for weight loss, there will be more questions on exactly how it will be able to achieve this. It’s not a magic solution by itself. However, if you get the right knowledge and information to use it effectively, you will lose weight with vibration machines.
